THE SOFT MACHINE : Jet propelled Photographs (1967)

Interesting collection of early (1967) demo's by the original Softs line up, including Allen and Ayers. This has been released numerous times over the years in a number of different sleeves, both under this title and as "In The Beginning".

THE WILDE FLOWERS 1965 - 1969

Great compilation of all the surviving tracks cut by The Wilde Flowers between 1965 & '69, though most apparently date from 65 - 6. Chiefly remembered these days for including various members of Soft Machine & Caravan as well as other players from the Canterbury prog scene.
A mixture of period R&B with burgeoning psychadelia... freakbeat really.

SOFT MACHINE : Breda Reactor, Holland, 21/3/71.

An excellent double CD from Holland, March 1971.

THE SOFT MACHINE : The Soft Machine (Volume One) 1968

Debut long player from The Softs, released in 1968 whilst they were on the USA Tour with Hendrix. (See previous posting). Interesting album with predominantly Wyatt's lead vocals.

SOFT MACHINE : Lyceum, London, 5/10/69

Another well known and circulated Soft's boot from 1969...

THE SOFT MACHINE : Paradiso Amsterdam, 29/3/69

Well known boot from Holland, 1969, featuring the three piece Wyatt, Hopper & Ratledge line up. This has been released under several titles and different covers over the years.

THE SOFT MACHINE : Hendrix Tour, USA, 1968

Thanks to Ian (Toronto) for this 110% gem - just converted it from FLAC to MP3 for the convenience of downloaders. These 3x concert extracts round up the existing material from the Softs' 1968 US Tour where they supported the Jimi Hendrix Experience. All are audience recordings but essential all the same, as they are the last gigs featuring Kevin Ayers, who was then replaced by the Soft's roadie, one Hugh Hopper .

Tracks 1-10 = Coliseum Ballroom, Davenport, Iowa, 11/8/68
Tracks 11-16 = Merriweather Post Pavillion, Columbia, Maryland, 16/8/68
Tracks 17-20 = Hollywood Bowl, 13/9/68.

This material has been released under different titles (& with different covers / artwork), including "Dada Insanity Vol 3" and "The Soft Machine Conquers America 1968). Some of the artwork is included on the file...

SOFT MACHINE : Cafe - A - Go - Go, New York City, 7/7/71

One of the last dates to feature Robert Wyatt, who was soon to quit the Machine and be replaced by Phil Howard...
